I DO NOT want to make new character every season/league
I heard that the LE will follow the footsteps of Leagues/Seasons like PoE.

However, I absolutely DO NOT want to create a new character every season, rush story to end-game every single season with a 'starter farm build', then transfer gear to a 'bossing build'.

Instead, please let me use my old characters in new league either by some sort of 'rebirth' mechanic that adds a small bonus every time you rebirth a character or cosmetic rewards by reaching X amount of rebirths.

Also I'd prefer to have a reason to play non-seasonal/league characters otherwise this is just gonna be PoE all over again. Rush story to end-game every season and do season challenges. Absolutely boring.

some stuff will be added to normal im sure but thats the way it is with almost all live service ARPGS the content is in the leagues

I prefer a Grim Dawn approach over a PoE/Diablo seasonal. Good, solid progression with tons of build theories/potentials. Of course, player retention and MTX promotion (for cosmetics of course) leans more towards the constant chase of seasonal resets. We'll have to wait and see I suppose.

Love the entitlement in this post.. LOL You are free to create your own game the way you like it ya know.
doesn't that completely remove the whole point of a league/new season
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I will never understand why some people make a gripe thread about some such thing and then mark a post that mimics their own beliefs as an "answer" when the original post was never a question. Different opinions must be scary... only echo chambers allowed I guess lol.

I want to be able to play a hardcore character but I don't want it to become a softcore character if I die.

Either they'e farming jester points, or they're just not that bright.

Yep, Grim Dawn is my favorite ARPG because of its core design being extremely focused on the offline single player experience. I find it infinitely more replayable than other ARPGs that use the season model.

It seems like you dont understand the genre. This is not an mmorpg.

Oh I do, I have played a ton of ARPG and grew up with Diablo 2.

Best example I can use is Marvel Heroes.

It is online-only but it doesn't have seasons/leagues.

Leagues/Seasons does NOT define the ARPG genre.

Making new characters and trying out different builds define the ARPG genre

I agree with trying out new builds, finding new gear, setting up a new build around that new set of gear for a different class or build.

However, I strongly disagree with making 'new characters'. Making new characters does NOT define the ARPG genre.

This is 2023, why are we still having this backward mentality of having to create a new character for every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ build?

When ideas like respecs, build loadouts and rebirth already exist.

If you really want to create 5 new characters every season, PoE already exist, just saying.

The entire point is to see your character become stronger as you progress. Just respeccing everything is boring.

You clearly do not like arpgs so I dont understand why you care about this game?

"Instead, please let me use..."
Now pick a dictionary and look at what "entitlement" means. You are welcome.

On topic, what would be nice is if they added the season content for already existing characters after the end of such season. Personally i don't understand forcing the player to create a new character to enjoy the new content.

This only makes sense if you both have an absurd amount of time to play the game and it is actually the only thing you do in that time. But the looter hack'n slash genre is caracterized for playability going worse each generation...
