It is still possible to edit characters by editing the file in multiplayer?

As in the title.
Previously, you could edit the save file and add/change everything you wanted.
Is it still possible in multiplayer and then when the trading becomes available?
I would like to play with people who play legit and I don't know if it is still possible to add anything to the game by just editing the file.

Nope no longer able to. Everything is hosted on LE servers now.
