Uhh... memory leak.
So i've been playing the game for some time with my friend, everything was good until i started playing solo. Created another online char and then it has begun. The game completely fills RAM in an hour and a half (approximately) and then either crashes itself or crashes my system. Thank god the system doesn't BSOD and i can restore everything by pressing the sleep button and wake the PC again. Don't know why but it also breaks the Spotify UI, altho it still works. Any solution except restarting the game every hour?

This should purge anything lingering in your memory from the game. I have had issues with memory leaks from other games and doing this after I stop playing the game gets rid of the issue. It sucks and we shouldn't have to do it, but it is what it is.

I've been monitoring the RAM usage while playing on my side monitor, and at the start the game consumes around 6 gb, then slowly but surely consumes more and more. I have 32 gb RAM.

I would like to know as well, as i have the same issue and it is very frustrating to keep restarting the game. Completely kills the mood to continue playing

Guess it's not so common issue and it's just a lucky few people. Fml.

Alright thank you, i'll try that. Hopefully it'll work. I've shut down my PC today when i went to work, gonna check if the issue goes away.

Good luck!

Did you enable core isolation in windows?
Vel Mar 20, 2023 @ 1:20am
I think I know now why this happens.

1. Long running hours
2. Alt-Tabbing out of the game several times during your long hours.

My RAM starts at 3.5GBs and ends around 8GBs (Where it starts lagging/Stuttering and have to restart it).

Check the forum here, we had a long discussion about it:

https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/beta-0-9c-and-0-9d-patch-notes/53626/93?u=vel1

And keep scrolling down, a lot of screenshots and posts specially about this till the end of the thread :)

EDIT: I've heard that force-closing the "UnityCrashHandler" in task manager also helps with this.. but I doubt since it usually starts with the game itself.

Yes the game has multiple memory leaks, pretty well established and had them for a while, both RAM and VRAM. However VRAM is rare to happen (never happned to me) and RAM is easily solved by just rebooting the game every 3 hours (or less depending how much RAM you have, the more the longer you can play).

Thanks all, now i've got something to work with at least.

Yeah, both are true. I'm alt tabbing quite alot during the gaming sessions since i'm a noob and i'm reading some info/build guides, etc., and the sessions are easy 2 hours+ long, if the game doesn't crash that is.

Yeah I noticed that as well. Alt-tabbing a lot (Music/Browsing/LastEpochTools etc...) and the game always adds about 50mb to 100mb to RAM within minutes.

Hopefully they can fix this.

Yeah, I think there's something weird, the game eat slowly but steadily more and more memory. Just restart the game after 3-4 hours of gameplay. I hope they get it addressed.
Tauriz Mar 20, 2023 @ 2:47am
I think that helped. 2 hours long session, the game stays at 9.6 gb of RAM usage and doesn't exceed 10 gb threshold for about an hour (been monitoring all the time ofc), which is fine by me.

UPD. almost 3 hours, still around 9.6 gb of RAM usage.
UPD2. 4 hours long game session seems like the soft cap for how long i can play without restarting the game. 10 gb threshold has been exceeded and now it's almost 11 gb.
UPD3. after 5 hours long session it crashed. So basically 4 hours for 32 gb RAM owners, twice as short for 16 gb.
