2. This 100% depends on you. There is enough things to do to keep you going for a bit. Think of PoE. When you think you're done. They always add more things to do. This game will be similar. You just have to remember, they're still developing core mechanics of the game. Therefore, you might "complete" a build/play through before they have time to add more things to do.
3. Yes, this game has set items that enhance certain aspects of builds/classes. (They appear green in-game)
4. There really isn't a current "new" road map.
2) Ah, probably not if you want it to be perfect...and even then I don't think that's possible. However, you can definitely get your characters to a place where they have everything you want and you're happy with them, but those items are unlikely to be perfect and you can always make it just a tiny bit better.
3) There are definitely build defining unique and set items, but not every unique or set item is a build defining item.
