Screen turns off... Forces reboot
Since yesterday afternoon my game constantly causes my PC to black screen or well.. Monitor simply goes idle and i'm forced to reboot the PC. I can still hear things and click around. But just no visuals.

Thiis does not occur on any other game.
Software all fine, hardware all fine.

Settings of the game don't affect it... Curious if anyone has any ideas

Sounds like gpu issue (power consumption would be my assumption). Have you had this happen on any other GPU heavy games?

I've had these black screens twice and it affected both monitors, also Discord was unresponsive after that, and a few other app crashed. Most certainly due to the ginormous amount of RAM + VRAM the game locks. Like check RAMMap, my 32GB RAM was brought to its knees after an hour or so echoes (zoom zoom bladedancer though). Most of it is put into standby instead of letting the operating system handle the caching in case the game wants to reuse assets.

An anti-cheat on Lost Ark caused my computer to do the same thing. I had to figure out why and fix it and it stopped doing it after. Hope this helps GL.

I have exactly the same problem. I hope this will be fixed at release, but I think it's unlikely.

Totally agree, please send a T-shirt my way ;)

But it might be true in some cases because they only play one game or dont have the same demanding games in their library, seen so many people over the last year still use HDD, its scarry.

Pff... my hard drive will still be inherited and in a generation they will go to pawn it as a family heirloom! xD

You probably have a hardware problem. The reason it doesn't show in other games is because this game likely taxes the hardware in ways they don't. That's how it exposes your hardware problem.

Wild guess, its you GPU that gets too hot and turns the Screen/Screens off.
Just had this happen to my sons PC, running the same games for years and years and just the other week screen turned off, i checked with Nvidea overlay and CPUID and other programs like HWmonitor to see if i could find what was wrong, it was the GPU that turned too hot in 2 of the games he has been playing for years and years, i guess the cooling paste is dry, but i got him a new PC instead of checking the cooling paste if it was dryed out.

EDIT: Always make sure you GPU dont gets too hot, if a GPU gets too hot it tryes to turn off what it can and one of the things are the connection to you screen/screens.

Some programs dont show how hot the chips and inside of the GPU gets but only shows the temp of the cooling plates and so on, so make sure you use an advanced program to see if it is the Vram that gets too hot. HWmonitor is a great program that shows everything :)
This particular game crashes for me, but for example MK 1, which is more demanding, works fine. It's about the game, not the PC.

holy, all these many who know its a hardware issue....

what is the event log saying?

Lol, this is such an old Thread xD

Answer: It was the GPU giving up (Not running too hot and not a power issue, so Idk what it was), after 2 weeks, it started doing it on every game.

To answer those mentioning playing only 1-2 games or w/e... I am always playing loads of games, hence why I added it to the post. And yes, I played much more demanding games at the time. This game just triggered it in a specific way that tickled it a bit too much :D

So you couldn't find a solution? It is sad.

Having the same issues here with only this game. 3080 TI running at medium.

What i noticed with my old GPU (rtx2060s) is that if i went above 60fps, the card was heating up to max temp. (its a single fan gpu tho) but with locked to 60, it had no issue's being cool (for the cards norm). (high settings)

Now i got a rx6700xt and no issues and can run it with 144fps not touching hotter then 60c.
(ultra settings)

So my advise for single/dualfans, older gpu's... lock your fps to 60. Save your GPU for a couple of months before dying maybe.
