It doesn't have the same itemization as diablo 3 and Last epoch will be full of mtx
And yes it literally isn't pay to win either. They confirmed it's just cosmetics.
The usual clueless sheeps that jump on the hate train without knowing anything and fanboying over games that do the exact same thing if not worse. Funny
Have fun paying for skins that look 10 times worse than Diablo just because your fellow redditors and youtubers told you to hate everything blizzard does.
I think its a combination of the genre being generally starved of new games and a lot of people are fatigued with POE and simply don't like Blizzard any longer, so they want so much to believe this is the next big game.
Also UNDECEMBER was not bad. Quite solid until they added Act11 in January. Now it´s still better than LastEpoch, but not #Top5 anymore
The biggest issue is lack of variety and fun things to do in monolith or campaigns. Lack of exploration and discovery, an unbalanced reward system and a loot mechanic that rarely proved exciting.
2 years later the 0.9 version is actually much worse than 0.8.2
I mean to some extent the genre itself suffers from this issue, but yes its particularly noticeable in LE because all the bells and whistles that distract you from that in other games, simply aren't up to scratch here.
I think this is true, however it is not necessary a bad thing. Had LE positioned itself as the casual new to the genre game that it actually is, I think people would be able to look at it more fondly, I know I sure would. A lot of people have fond memories about their first introduction Wizard101 got a lot of people into the mmo space for example.
However with the disconnect of LE trying to position itself with the big boys the flaws just feel more harsh then necessary. That is not to say that LE could not be successful appealing to the casual market, well at least when it was a much smaller team with more focused goals. With the expansion of the team, and such grandiose plans for future content, well to quote a streamer "no one cares if the game play loop is scuffed"
