Coop quest bug, locked out of completing quest and getting reward.

Was playing together with my brother and we reached the "An Ancient Path" quest, but my second use of the time rift wasn't counted when/before going back to town and therefore my quest wasn't completed when my brother turned his in and accepted the next quest (which I did get started on as well).

I was initially unable to finish the second "use the time rift", till I restarted the game, but I'm still unable to complete the next part "share your experience with someone in the Council Chambers", and can't get the rewards.

And although that isn't much of a problem specifically with this quest, as it only gives gold and exp, and we can appear to technically continue since I do have the next quest, if this quest had unlocked idol slots for example for completing it, I'd be unable to get it, so it sounds like a possibly very serious bug.

I have also encountered this exact same bug with a friend of mine. He turned in the first part and I didnt notice that it didnt count for me till after he turned in the second part and now I can't turn it in no matter what I do. I also need to speak to someone in the council chambers, specifically the chronomancer and it doesn't work. I have tried restarting my game and its stuck.

I have encountered this bug as well when playing multiplayer and I'm unable to turn in the quest.

valid workaround i found and can confirm is to join another low level player while he turns the quest in.
hard part is finding someone willing to help.
just took me over 90 minutes =)

hope they will add a flag for that npc or some other way to reset/abandon quests.

Are you sure its not completed, or do you just assume because you never talked to the npc? Just wondering because I just did that quest offline and mine is marked as completed even though I never talked to the npc. I think it popped up with the quest rewards when I killed the dragon, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Yes im pretty sure it is not completed. The problem stems from MP as OP explained.

The quest is still in my quest log, saying "share your experience with someone in the Council Chambers", directing me to the Chronomancer, but talking with her only gives the option for respec and "goodbye". And I do already have the quest that is supposed to start after "sharing my experience" with her.
