Report a translation problem
This is all publicly recorded on these forums, so sadly a basic feature of like every ARPG ever won't exist here cause 'some people' EHG asked said they liked the bugged map that resets every time you zone in and out (a bug they acknowledged years ago and claimed was fixed in the MP version when it released)
If you've completed 100% of quests on a map, then the map will REMAIN revealed. But right now the map reset function is just busted.
No its simply that any zoning resets the map, its just usually the maps are so corridor like and there aren't many dungeons and side paths while doing the quests so you never notice it (much) but you can test it yourself. Zone back to town from anywhere and then come back the map will be reset in terms of respawns (cant recall if it remembers your map vision or not)
I don't remember it being in 0.8.4, but I could be wrong.
Because imo the truth is they couldn't fix the bug causing it so just reworked the truth into something more palatable.
They seem to be quite at that generally.

Nobody thought it was a good idea, they just lied about that part. They couldn't fix the bug so they just basically farted in our faces and told us a beautiful summer breeze was blowing and it wasn't really a fart at all.
I still suspect their inability to fix this bug was tied to them scrapping the bazaar. Like if you can't stop the map re-spawning every time someone zones there was never much hope a big system like the bazaar was doable really.
Exactly this, but no I was told by various forum users that I'm wrong and nobody cares about maps or exploration in these games anyway. Some of them actually defended this feature by saying "well the loot is all worthless to sell anyway so why do you ever need to go back to town ? ' Which like they aren't wrong but FML what a depressing admission about the game.
LastEpoch is called "PoE lite" for reasons.. that´s why it´s in decline since 0.8.4
