Or the +20 to armor skill? (I'm lvl 17 and have about 45 armor, so it does seems like a huge increase now, but not sure about mid-late game)

You asked why take the Forbidden Knowledge passive node, well if you're using Harvest than each point of Intelligence adds +1 flat melee necrotic damage and flat damage is some of the strongest in the game.
How to reset Passive Points
Chronomancer Lerinne allows you to respec your passive points at the cost of gold. The gold cost is greater for passives higher in the Mastery trees than passives lower in those trees. This NPC can be found in most town hubs, as well as in The End of Time.

Currently, you can only refund one point at a time, having to confirm each change. Passive nodes on the righthand side of Mastery trees are sustained by the passive nodes that come before so you may need to refund higher passive nodes to make changes to lower passive nodes, in some cases.
Helpful Resources
Just wanted to add that there's a lot of resources that can help you answer some of your questions, or offer you further guidance:
I know that Harvest adds Int as dmg, but we are talking about +8 dmg (8 points in Forbidden Knowledge) which seems very little compare to the weapon dmg I get at this lvl (which is about 140 now), and those points might get me more dmg buf if I invest them into Blood Aura (+%6 dmg), or the defense\HP skills.
Maybe I'm wrong about the math, but from my understanding 1 int = 1 dmg to Harvest.
Also what are your thoughts about Bone Aura vs the HP bonus (+160 armor vs +80HP).
Which is better?
The bone aura seems much better as currently I have around 50 armor.
