Can't change Mastery
Why would developers design this game in a way that it blocks players to change their mastery when they make a mistake.

If i recall correctly, the game ask for confirmation when you choose your mastery.

It's the principle of classes.
Can you change your main mastery in GD when you've chosen your second one?
Or can you change your sorceress for a paladin in Diablo ?
You are able to respec your passive points (with IG gold) and change your skills (with some xp levelling) but not your class mastery. Because you're supposed to know what class you want to play.
And like said Koala, you have a confirmation when you choose a mastery. It's not really a mistake, it's a conformed choice.
If you don't want any class, play poe. It's almost the only one (with the bad wolcen) to not have classes.

It does. It also warns you at that time that you can't change it after picking one. There's no way to "make a mistake" here unless you blindly click through message boxes in games, in which case you honestly had it coming.

Im fine with it in principle but you shouldn't be locked in until all the masteries are in the game

Weak agreement. Reason being is if that's not In the game now just think of all the rage that would happen at 1.0 full release of LE. If all of a sudden u cannot switch ur Master. But u could in beta.

Not saying other things that get added wouldn't cause this. But that's partly why.

Sometimes things need to be in the games beta early for a reason more so with early access titles like LE

Take valhiem for example. Before the hearth and home update. U could parry ranged attacks. That update removed that ability. The community raged about it. Devs reverted it back. Is it fun sure but very unrealistic. It was to late at that point to change it.
