How do I consume a shadow for health?

I can't figure out how to do it. Like to make sure before I start putting points into it.

Some skills have nodes that make them consume shadows, in exchange of other benefits.
Check the skill trees.

Shadows are the smokey clones that you can generate via some skills with the right nodes. I believe the full list is decoy, the dash skill, smoke bomb, black quiver and all blademaster skills.

They will dupe/copy acid flask, shurikens, and shadow cascade attack one time before vanishing.
