Attunement?

got this shard that offers attunement. what is attunement? nothing in the new game guide or result when i search here.

attunement gives elemental protection and boosts skills that require it.

Attunment is an attribute. If you press C by default it opens you sheet and in the top left corner are the attributes. If you mouse over those you'll get almost all information you need.
