Advice on how to play a blood mage?
The title. I just got the game and saw the acolyte has a blood spell and was wondering if there are more blood magic spells and if it would be possible to make a good build around it?

To-answer the OP's question, rip blood works pretty well, but i haven't seen to many builds built around it. The next patch coming within a week will add a drain life skill which sounds right up your alley.

I could very well be wrong, but I think there is only one "blood" spell and it's the very first one you get. It's a good ability for leveling and can do some sick AoE damage. I haven't really messed around with it much as I've been mainly trying massive pet build with Necromancer.

OR, and this is a crazy idea, he/She could come to THAT game's forums and ask the playerbase that plays the game :O

Yes, Blood heals you - Reapers lose health as time goes on. The blood keeps you in Reaper form, go forth my child. Only thing that sucks about this damn game is you can't really enjoy making random builds. Because the developers thought it would be a great ideal to make you re-Level up a skill after you've maxed it out...

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid.

These skills should just be added into the slot and retain it's level when swapped out. I'm down with leveling them up - I'm not down with you wasting my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time just because I want to try out a new build..

I think they are changing the mechanics of some of the classes in the upcoming patch. Might be wiser to wait and see how that pans out. I know they said that about the Necromancer.

No - it takes quite awhile to re-level up a skill and you shouldn't have to at all. It really makes you not to want to experiment with builds. This aspect of the game is going to get it murder on release, hopefully they have the sense to drop it.

Imagine just because you wanted to try out a different build.
POE - Every time you took out a gem: It lost all levels and you had to grind it back up.. !o.O!
D3 - Every time you swapped out a skill, you lose a level and had to grind it all back up... ?o.O?
GD - Each time you took a point out of tree you had to grind back up to put that point back.. -_-'

♥♥♥♥ what you heard, for people who have a life beyond a game. That ♥♥♥♥ not fun at all lmao.

A single wave of the arena raises a freshly despecced skill to 8. About 5 minutes of arena or starting a fresh monolith with get you to 15. That is more than enough to test most things. That's with an average at best build. 5 minutes to test a skill is not asking to much imo, especially considering you're still earning loot and xp in that 5 minutes.

Think you're missing the obvious point.. -_-'

No one is saying you shouldn't have to level up a newly added skill...

Example:
Max level Summon Skeleton. (20)
A new skill is released Summon Zombie
You swap out Summon Skeleton (20) For Summon Zombie.
Get about 15 levels in and decide you like Summon Skeleton more..

There is no reason why something that you've grind up to max level should be back down to 0. Just because you wanted to try out a different build. The skills levels need to remain regardless if you swap them out. There is ZERO reasons for this foolish feature to be in the game.

It's for that reason why I have not bought this game yet even though i own just about every ARPG ever made.

To each their own, but I'm not worrying about 5 minutes. It takes more time to properly test your own changes.

Fanboy's don't matter - It's a difference of 100k+ players vs a hand full of ppl on a leaky boat. It'll just be Wolcen all over again. No ones likes a game that don't care about the players time invested and that's exactly what this stupid halfass thought out plan does.
megaerik00 Mar 26, 2020 @ 3:31pm
lol, fanboy, resorting to name calling I see. Let's try to remain civil here.

What else are you doing in that 5 minutes anyway if not grinding? Maybe arpgs arent for you then.
