There's two option the game likely would take
- Considering how the series always been there will be always a remaster with extension eg (GE:Burst, GE: Resurrection, GE2RB)
- or They'll use the same game and charge us from 20-40 bucks for Story expansion (season pass or something similar to SAOFB or if you know Guilty Gear Revelation, there's 2.0 version. Both add more characters, and story).
Gameplay wise i don't know how they can add new mechanics or system.
And yes these Remaster or 2.0 later will probably released in 2020.
Hiroshi Yoshimura already said that there will not be a burst edition for GE3, as it made people reclutant to keep supporting the franchise (for a good reason) and instead said that they will focus on updaring the game adding new content.
It is better this way. Thank you.
That said, we did tried to discuss that GE3 seems rushed and unfinished due Code Vein and even Code Vein got delayed.
Also noting that GE3 release schedule was quite a problem due it was in between popular games release.
Sadly I too believe that GE3 suffered due to code vein. A "new" IP which looks really awesome so far, but clearly GE3 felt kinda rushed.
I still hope it will get a good chunk of content, honestly, as I very liked GE3.
Well there won't be a "paid" burst edition, i would entirely expect the game to be rebranded as a burst edition after a certain time passes mainly to justify the continued price and so they can try to re-release the game under what is essentially a new name, just makes simple business sense
This could be entirely possible, the only doubt I have is the fact that this is not a true triple A game, so I'm unsure on which kind of direction the updates will take.
Honestly my biggest fear is that the game will not be supported at the same level of previous burst editions, considering that a) it seems bamco didn't give much important to this game in the first place, and b) code veins could take too much time for bamco to care on supporting GE3.
There's some of stuff i would like to address in GE3
- Aragami bullet doesn't exist anymore
- Bullet module for is now simplified
- There's missing gun replaced by laser right?
- Some features like Burst Arts, Engage, Acceleration Trigger seems unpolished.
Bamco games was never a AAA games.
But in Japanese standard yes they are AAA but regardless it was never the case for God Eater and it never was. GE3 could hit that standard but after playing it for few hours (borrowing from friend), i felt it is indeed rushed due some major reasons and i am quite disappointed though i am still going to buy it either way.
It's not a bad deal for 20-40 bucks as long it's worth the content and makes the game lives longer to support the planned sequel.
All games does this but just "make sure it does feels worth the price".
I was really disappointed on the lack of aragami bullets: while they were kinda useless against the same enemy (since most of them were elemental, so the damage was pitiful), they could have worked to find some new ideas as replacement, like I dunno, self charging engage (I really hate the fact that you can't use engage if you are doing missions solo)? But nooo, they simply removed those bullets. :/
BA needs more check, while some are good, most of them are kinda weak. Acceleration trigger too need major work.
I still think that the major cause was the focus on code veins. Although I'd like to know how well GE3 will do in japan for the next weeks.
Nope. People say that the game feels rushed because it feels so, and for a good reason: BA are kinda unbalanced, we have some really good damaging ones, against some REALLY pitiful (almost all of biting edge BA are awful, for example); then we have lack of new aragamis, the new ones are really few; assault missions are kinda useless.
The character creator also suffered from the game being rushed: it lacks many hairstyles, accessories & Co.
I'm not saying the game is bad in any way, and I also believe and hope that the future content will match the burst edition of past games, but for the price-tag this game had (50 eur in italy, which is more or less on par with 60 usd) is way too much for the content this game has to offer.
They weren't trying to sell us the same game for absolutely no reason
As for the "DLC" for this game, as far as I know all planned updates are to be free. Idk why people have so little faith in this series when so far it's really never given us a reason to not have faith.
and really there's no reason not to adopt dlc practices with these games, even the most successful hunting game (mhw), is getting with the time and adopting the practice.
imo best way to do it is like sfv or ggxrd; offer dlc/expansion and updated re-release so people who bought the game and people new to the series both have the options.
I can only talk about myself: in this regard, I already knew about this, especially so since I've imported GEB and GE2 for my psp (GE2RB never got a psp release).
I would not say that people have little faith in the series, it's more that code veins is making people uncertain, and bamco seems to not care too much about GE3.
As I previously said, I believe and hope that the content will be on par with the previous titles, but only time will tell which direction the added content will take.
