what are the best shields?

i figure as for weapon i should have one for every elemental resistance but what else?

is there any type that make just guarding easyer?

for now i'm using the "medium" type

I use tower shield now. I can block ever attack that hits my shield (some probelms with borgs tail swipe, you need to out our shield to the side). The "slow" build-up is not really noticable. Once you get auto-block lvl 5 and quick build-up for your shield you can just facetank every attack with a tower shield. I dont think the bristle and the other tower shield is in this game (best shields in gerb2). Small shields has literally no build-up time but you drain stamina extremly fast and you gain damage when you block. Atm i feel fine with tower shield.

I'm over here using a buckler, I get relatively consistent perfect blocks with it so I'm fine.

Depends on how much you plan to get hit, master perfect guard and you won't need to bother with shields, besides the 4 slot ones for extra skill spots.
