Is God Eater 2 has the same gameplay with God Eater 3? They developed by different studio. Btw thank you for the recommendation. Idk anything about Toukiden series. Might watch some gameplay on youtube later..

It's confusing me too. God Eater 3 doesn't have Hack and Slash tag on their steam page. But as long as the gameplay is much like DMC, MHW, etc with anime style, I'm in. AFAIK Code Vein is the closest one to God Eater style.

It technically a dark soul game with anime. You can try the demo for all of the games above since they have released quite a time now. They all belong to Monster Hunting genre but gameplay are faster and more combat interactive than MH if some said it slow...
Also not sure why the Monster Hunting tag is so big that ppl calling any of these are Monster Hunter clone but the gameplay very different...
Btw ge2 and ge3 indeed developed by different studio but under the same company... much like a team than a studio since the developer for ge2 doing code vein instead.
You can join SAO series like Fatal Bullet, Alicization Lycoris if you have interest in Bandai games. Also including Blood Borne, DarksSoul, Sekiro as well as Fate Extella Link(for Fate fans) and Attack on Titan

Because its not, lol
In terms of gameplay, these are quite similar
Tokyo Xanadu ex+
Shining Resonance: Refrain
Ys VIII
Mysteria EA
Onechanbara Z2: Chaos
Advent Rising - released in 2005 duh.

I'm too afraid to ask what is the real hack and slash.
Well that's quite a list, will watch all those gameplay first. Thank you..

How about the Devil May Cry series and Bayonetta?

ok i will play code vein too.. but i dont think that will be like this.. still the first answer put you all the 4 games for you to play, god eater 2 is probably the best choice if you like this.. really just bought it. My second choice..i play toukiden 2 and is good too.. and finally monster hunter world is similar but more harder... usually..

It doesn't have to be extremely similar and yeah i will play Code Vein too. I've been thinking of purchasing God Eater 2 after i finished God Eater 3 (gonna take a while since i'm a completionist). Thanks

Hmm, if you can bear to play GE2 after GE3 its good. GE2 is great game but it might feel clunky after playing GE3.

First thing, this kind of thread may get erased quickly since it promote other games. But left that to moderator.

Other than titles mentioned

SAO fatal bullet and some others under SAO name can be considered hack and slash if you are melee. But SAO:FB is more on shooter like Warframe.

Then you got Phantasy Star Online 2 which still updated. FF XV also there.

If dynasty warrior / musou genre is in your scope. You can consider Attack on Titan or Fate series games.

If you are looking for lighter games (2D hack and slash?), look for fanmade or indie games outside steam. Example is "Dust, an Elysian tail" (it is now available in steam).
