Now this is actually much harder question that you'd guess! :)

In traditional sense of turn-based, nope, it has simultaneous turns. However, the time rewinding creates totally new kind of gameplay experience which sort of brings together the total control and tactical aspect of turn-based combat and combines it with more action packed feeling of real-time combat games.

For me, as fan of turn-based games, it ticks all the same boxes as my favorite turn-based games. On the other hand, there are lots of gamers who play more action oriented games who have been telling that for them it is like Diablo and such, but with possibility to think more and they like it that way.

So, long answer to short question is, not in traditional way (we cannot put it in any traditional category actually), but it plays very much like one.

Got it. Thanks for the prompt and detailed reply! ;)

Sounds like a WeGo type, if I read correctly. Which is my favourite. My best Tactical games have been the wego ones.

It does definitely looks like WEGO :) BSG Deadlock is one of those incredible recent games you are talking about hehe

Though the twist of been able to rewind a bit on the action is really nice. I will definitely want to try this out to see how it plays out

It's true that it sort is like WEGO. However, due to rewind you will have much more control over exact commands your character gives. So in the sense, giving commands is much like in turn-based games, but things run simultaneously like in WEGO.

We can do that kind of unique control scheme combination due to the rewinding.
Is there a limit to how often you can pause and rewind or can we pause after every action? Is it on a cool down or anything?

There is no limit to pausing. Actually, when in combat mode (we call it trance) the time never advances unless you perform an action. Sorta like superhot, but with turn based-type controls and with rewind and isometric and co-op with yourself 😀
Rewind is limited though: you can only go back 5 seconds from the ”now”.
Each skill has it’s own cooldown. Some have none, but some have tens of seconds. The idea is to keep you always exploring for the next thing to try. Not get you stuck in a loop of actions.
