Is there seriously no Demo?
I would actaully like to know if I want to buy this game or not. I played it on the Playstation maybe 4 years ago and I want to see if my computer can handle the graphics in this game. Why is there no demo to test that?

Easier and faster to simply compare your system specs to the minimum requirements to run the game.

Not all games will have a demo. This is a fact you will simply have to deal with.

I did the googling for you and came up with this, took literally 3 seconds.

MINIMUM PC REQUIREMENTS
2.4Ghz
RAM: 1GB System RAM (2GB with Vista)
8x or Faster DVD Drive
Disc Drive: 8x or Faster
Hard Drive: 8GB or More Free Space
Video Card: 256MB Video Ram or Better
Sound Card: Windows Compatible Sound Card

Hope this works for you and you can run the game, its a lot of fun.

your computer does not have to be any good to play borderlands 1.the computer i am using is a piece of crap and i can play it on medium settings. funny thing is...my computer cant even support minecraft....so..unless your computer is even worse than mine...i doubt you will have any troubles.

Minecraft is very resource intensive, especially for JAVA, so thats understandable.

It's even less effort....

to just click on the link to the store page at the top of this screen where the rec specs for the game are located, same as every other game on Steam.

Well, on Gamefly you can buy the game for about 4.5$ with all DLC this weekend (if you also use the 20% coupon), and that much is worth it even if you'll be able to play it only when you upgrade your computer.

Demos are actually useful, since requirements usually tend to be false. I mean, my PC falls FAR below the required min. specs of JC2, but I tried the demo, liked the game and found I could run it perfectly, so I bought it. The Dead Space trilogy minimum req. also falls below my PCs hardware, but I can run them on Max. settings. (By PC I mean ♥♥♥♥♥♥ laptop)

I agree with you OP, but even the worst PCs can run this on lowest settings, and if your PC still can't on lowest, use a game booster.

There are also tweaks you can do that allow you to run with better settings on low end systems but incolves tweaks to the settings file. I have running fine on old lappy (dual core and mobile HD2600) at 1024*768 with not bad gfx smooth

This video explains some of the reason for many games not having demos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QM6LoaqEnY

In short, great games with great demos lead to only a marginal sales increase while a poor or decent demo tends to decrease overall sales. The video is only 6 minutes and definetly worth a view if you care about video games or the theory behind them.

Don't worry, this game my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ computer can run at low settings.

Yup, you can tweak the Borderlands and Borderlands 2 .ini files. It ruins the game and makes it look ugly, but hey, least you can run it.
smotherfig Jan 15, 2014 @ 4:56pm
It runs very well with no shadows on my p.o.s computer.

It's okay for me. Sony Vaio PCG-31311L with 1024x600. Looks a bit ugly, but totally playable.

Borderlands - free 30 minutes trial (demo) - OnLive (it is old version with GameSpy so co-op doesn't work but single-player still work):

http://games.onlive.com/games/borderlands-playpack

Onlive is streaming games so you can have lag but if you want demo... [Sorry for my English.]
