Ok, I'm gonna be honest. This game is BORING.

I've been playing for nearly SIX hours, but the game's general direction isn't going anywhere. I arrived in some crappy bus, talked to a guardian angel in my head who told I need to befriend the locals to find the Vault, met a robot called ClapTrap, but the entire game has been 'go to X, kill this person/thing, turn in'. I picked this and Borderlands 2 up during the weekend sale a couple of months ago, hoping to have a wild, fun game that was supposedly 'all about the loot', but all I'm getting at this point is a dull experience through a fairly restricted world. The characters I've met (the doctor guy, ClapTrap) all repeat the same lines over and over again, with quite literally no change. The questions I raise for you today, my fellow reader, are these - does the game get any better, does Borderlands 2 do a better job and if not, should I just leave it alone? I really do want to like this game, it's just I'm having a hard time trying to.

Outside of the fact that the problems you describe are in every game ever made, it's ok to not like things, just move on.

And no it doesn't really change. BL2 has a much more developped and funny storyline but the gameplay is much the same.

That's pretty much the only thing that's wrong with this game, the storyline. The gameplay's fine, I can't deny that. The storyline is the only unsatifactory thing in my opinion.

That's pretty much the only thing that's wrong with this game, the storyline. The gameplay's fine, I can't deny that. The storyline is the only unsatifactory thing in my opinion.

Borderlands 2 .. story is no where near as funny or as Borderlands .. reason is the humor was ton down .. I guess for kids + to be sold in other countries with out any problems .. more of a voted fact even coming from mouths of the devs

Toned down? It's the exact opposite, They ramped the humor way up in Borderlands 2, so much so that it annoys some people.

Also yes, the story in BL1 isn't all that, it's barely there and doesn't even have a conclusion, or a middle, really.

About the story .. Borderlands .. 1 came out during the whole .. make a game and send out DLC that should of been part of the game or could of .. aka mainly done when the game came out .. just to make more money .. banwagon train .. so you kind of have to go off of all the DLC .. where most games DLC .. well have no story or its just random story and short... it has .. story all though the game .. and DLC only DLC .. that dosnt is Underdome ,, but it has 6-9 hours of game play + gave people what they asked for .. banks and scaling venders
...The game was made to be played with the orginal + last 2 DLC .. so really cant base the story in this game with out the DLC ,, blame Xbox or well Halo for the DLC to make money hype

as for humor .. I dont see how, toning down language, and the lack of racist, religious, sexiest ext jokes and lines .. is ramping it up... Most of Borderlands 2 lines .. sound like a 12 year old wrote them .. and they didnt get better untill DLC .. cause well people complained about .. the humor ... nother reason why Tail Tale Borderlands .. getting so much hype .. cause of the talk about bringing back the humor from Borderlands 1

The game does get much better, once you reach lv15 ish and leave that area your in it quickly opens up and the loot gets much better too.

yes borderlands is very boring. and the accuracy system make using weapons completely dull. you litteraly can fire 200 snipe bullets on an enemy in front of you and never hit him

i only play it while listening to stuffs like radio, otherwise it's just no way

I guess is a matter of preference, I like the game so far and I'm starting over with another class. The accuracy is ok with ironsights for mid/close range, but if you miss that much with a scoped gun then definitely you're doing something wrong.

I chose the Sniper character (Mordecai, I think that's his name?) and I'm at about Lv. 17 or 18, but I'm pretty good with a sniper rifle in games, so I'm not doing too bad, I think. (I can get headshots at least)

i'm a very good aimer and aiming in this game is pretty easy despite the stupid swinging view. when i scope with a snipe (playing almost only siren), put the dot on the head of my target and shoot, i'm sure it will not hit. i always have to try above, below, a bit off left or off right.. and sometimes it just won't work. i once spent like 20 or 30 minutes trying to kill a simple bandit who was like 120 meters away and I just could not kill it. it also happens with nearer targets but i can manage to kill them. it's not fun tough

the same happens with other weapons except they have much more bullets and firing rates but you could just call that the recoil

overall i find the firing system frustrating and hitting an enemy doesn't really feels satisfying. i'm on the second playthrough and the last time i played i then started to loot better gear so it might be it (yes i traveled the first one and beggining of the second with the same weapons, barely ever looting better stuffs)

Not sure why you have so much trouble aiming... I've noticed it's a lot harder + laggier in multiplayer, but other than that I find it fairly decent. The distance that you can hit your target from depends on the zoom of the rifle, but even still you want to try to be as close as you can (without being discovered if that's a priority) whenever you shoot. Always better to aim for more of the chin / mouth area if you're looking for consistency, but it's still not always a guarenteed crit; for that, aim for the middle of the head instead with the risk of missing. Both the accuracy on the rifle as well as your accuracy also effect your chance of hitting them, so sometimes you will just straight up miss. Also, for any creatures that aren't human, you want to aim for the middle of the head, below / between the eyes. Hope this helps :)

hahah thanks, i perfectly understand how the hitting works in the game. i got like 40 hours in it and they were clear right from the start. just that to me the way it's working is more annoying than fun

Is an A-RPG disguise as a FPS, You knew where you were getting into, I hope so. I also think story (or how the story progress) is the weak part of the game. But the gameplay is funny, Co-Op has some very strong points and you can try different builds or characters.
