Siren
ah, thanks man!!! i've also heard that the Siren class in "Borderlands 2" is just as good (if not better), and judging from the few videos i've seen on YouTube, looks pretty badass.

I would have to agree. However, if you like beating things to a pulp then use Brick.

Brick is the Berserker, right? If so, I saw something that while Berserk, you regenerate your health and become invulnerable to damage for a short while

For me, I do better with the soldier. I've tried all of them, I do okay with the hunter and berserker, but I have a hard time playing the siren. Depends on your play style, I imagine. Or maybe too many years on old school fps stuff I guess, or could well be lack of skill. :)

I think Siren is your best bet for your first character class, cause when she uses phasewalk, you disappear and that'll help you out in tricky situations. But if you like snipers and revolvers, go for Mordecai, and plus, bloodwing is helpful once you get your skill tree down so she can hit more than one target :) in Borderlands 2 go for Soldier, only cause you can hide behind your turrets lol

yeah, that Phasewalk (or in BL2's case, the Phaselock) is definitely no joke. If used correctly, you can either incapacitate an enemy and safely finish them off, or it'll deal massive damage instead.

Being an old military vet with speacialized training, I'm biased: Definitely Hunter. I wasn't an infantry grunt, so Roland or Brick didn't appeal that much to me, although the turret and the "magical" supply drops enabled through it were fascinating. The edge the Hunter enjoys with long-distance kills and his trusty killer companion Bloodwing is kinda cool.

who is this Bloodwing character? Had watched a walkthrough of this game on Wolfwood824's YouTube channel, and saw Bloodwing's name being mentioned.

Bloodwing is the Snipers bird and action skill.

I played as Lillith on my PS3 and boy does she kick ass. She mainly focus' on elemental damage in the skill tree I went uner. Also she can get a mercenary class mod which makes her regenrate SMG ammo and that helps alot, especially when it regens them faster than you shoot them.

Soldier is best for a lone newb. The sentry gun not only gives you cover anywhere and acts as a decoy, but also shoots too. His focus on SG and MG also make for the easiest gun selection. Siren is probably second best once you turn the cloak into a heal, while using any gun with elemental damage. The others just plain suck. I'm not saying you can't complete the game using any class, I'm just telling you that Soldier or Siren are the easiest, and therefore the best choices for newbs. Hunter or Brick are options for reruns if you're looking for a higher difficulty, but I doubt you'll play this twice at this point because of BL 2.

who knows dude, i just might (once I get my new PC system hooked up and everything updated). besides, i've been meaning to play the "Half-Life" series on top of that.
I have Boarderlands 2 and totally skipped Borderlands. My friends warned me that you should never go BACK a game because concepts could have changed. I loved Boarderlands 2 and I was wondering if I would be disappointed by the first one. I also want to know if you can aim down the sights with any gun (including revolvers) because I watched the trailer and I was just confused

Yes, you can ADS but it's pointless in both the Borderlands games, well useless for me

My first class was the hunter, but a day later i tried the Siren the game seemed so much easier with her. I didnt even used phasewalk all that much, simply turned everything to powder with my SMG. Only very few situations are difficult for a Siren without phasewalk if you full skill on the use of guns. Of course you have to hunt for better equipment all the time.
