but the original version is more expensive than the vanilla sequel, so we are all right.
I would buy Borderlands without the DLC for 5 bucks. But I'm not paying more for that than for borderlands 2 without the DLC.
Probably gonna be a year before I even get to BL2
So wrong on so many levels.
BL2's GOTY isn't a true "gold" or "complete edition"... you'll be missing: the level cap unlock pack 2, all the head hunter mini-missions and every single friggin' skin (around 30 if I'm not mistaken).
So you can't really compare the prices as one is complete and the other one is not.
During the sale, buying the BL2 GOTY and all the "essential" missing DLC (that is, not the skins) resulted in a total of around 18 bucks over here. I guess that is okay. Then again, a game that is as old as BL2 is should not price at more than around 10 bucks during a big sale. So, looks like their strategy for keeping the price up worked out.
Edit:
And think of all those people who bought BL2 full-price at release for like 50-60 bucks, then paid another 20 or so for the season-pass and another 20 for the stuff that was not in the season pass, lol. THOSE are the people that really got ripped off. It's really sad. It's a nice game, but the marketing strategy behind it is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
I truly hate skins as DLC. Especially when it's like one texture for 2$. But if I find them nice, I could spend around 5$ for 30 of them... not for 18+€, since, as you said, the GOTY + essential DLC costs about the same.
EDIT: I mean, how cool was it to unlock crazy characters after completing the game... as a reward??? To keep you playing the game and liking it even more? Example: Spider-Man in THPS2... or even the palette/sprite swap in Super Mario World.
