I'm unsure which one to play. Which one is the most up to date? Enhanced release date is 2019 but the basic GOTY was 2023 so it's a little confusing

The main difference is graphical and Quality of Life improvements. The GOTY Enhanced has updated Graphics and the minimap and inventar interface from Borderlands 2. There are also a few exclusive legendary guns and the ability to use golden keys. However in terms of performance the GOTY Enhanced has more bugs than the original, including a nasty memory leak. I would try the enhanced first. If it runs stable for you stick with it, if not switch to the normal GOTY. I for one play the original version, much smoother.

Like the above player I also use the OG version. When I tried the enhanced version the entire game had the weirdest lag. Moving/looking had a full second lag from controller to screen and had the jankiest, most unpredictable A.I movement u had ever seen. Like the enemy was running towards me but the character was facing the ground while still shooting at me. Strangest of all the lag only did this for movement, not for buttons or triggers. Those reacted normally. I should have recorded it.

And this is on a computer whose hardware & settings that thus far have allowed 52 hours of play & has only had 2 crash to desktops on "Fallout New Vegas"(un-modded). Including no Unofficial patch.

If u know anything about that game and its rep, u know how rare that is.

I played both versions and this pretty much sums it up. Another QoL Enhanced has is that it automatically picks up ammo and money, in the normal one if doesn't.

the original version no longer works for me but the enhanced version is smooth as butter

The auto pickup of money is actually a bad thing. They never bothered to fix the money overflow glitch, that is when you pick up enough money you will end up with the maximum amount in the negative. If this happens you won´t be able to buy from the vending machines, but respawn will be free. By not picking up money by accident you can kinda circumvent this in the OG version.

weird that has never happened to me and i've been playing enhanced since day 1 release ---> mabe if you use cheats or an editor but i use neither.

I neither use cheats or editors. However, if you farm the raidboss alot and sell all the loot he drops you gain money really fast. That way you can easily reach the internal threshold. Also selling loot is the fastest way to get back to a positiv value. I ported my old OG Borderlands save to the enhanced, therefore i already had a huge sum of money, when the auto pick up happend.
