Anyone agree that borderlands 2 has worse gunplay than 1?
I feel forced to only use revolvers, snipers and RPGs in BL2. Borderlands 1 give a much more free style of gunplay to choose from :D Like, eg, i have multiple ARs for each situation, and Snipers too. Eg, I have a very low damage sniper with high accuracy that i use for critical damage, i then use a more powerfull but less accurate sniper to fnish him off. You dont get that in BL2.

There are no revolvers in BL2.Maggie and Unforgiven are the only guns that can resemble revolvers.
Assault riffles in BL2 are pretty weak (Bekah is amazing tho) but i also don't like them in BL1 so not much difference. Everything else so shotguns, SMGs, snipers, pistols are good so i don't see why you feel forced to use only some kind of weapons.
Borderlands 2 scaling and parts system is different, thats all.
But i really miss mashers :Sadclot:

To bo honest I played the two games yesterday, switching between them. I found Borderlands a better game than Borderlands 2. The skill tree, the hud, the choosable characters are not as deep in BL2 as was in the first game. Even the UI gives me headache in BL2.

And I don't see much difference between a siren or an assassin. In BL1 the differences were much more sensible between the archetypes. Yeah I know, I exaggerate a bit but all in all, BL1 was better.

Honestly I prefer BL2 for a multitude of reasons, the guns being one of them. I feel like in BL2 it's easier to get the guns that work best for me, whereas in BL1 I've basically never been happy with any gun I pick up, which makes me lean more on my character skill. I prefer BL2's character customization as well, and the little things like being able to drive over ammo and money and pick them up that way (instead of in BL1 where I have to get out of my ride and pick things up manually). I like BL1's story, but I never got as into it as I did with BL2's and even the pre-sequel's story.

I also get super queasy from playing BL1 unless I tweak things in the .ini files. BL2 doesn't do that to me unless I'm sick or already have a headache.
BL1 > BL2. BL2 caters to casual players, if a legendary weapon drops its almost guaranteed to be good as where in BL1 a legendary weapon drops and it can be far worse than a purple with the right parts. In BL2 once you have one gun you have them all. I guess what I'm trying to say is the loot system in BL2 isn't full RNG. I can also go on about the balancing in BL2 being incredibly flawed as well, except I'd have to write a novel.

That's not even half true. They are nothing alike, totally different skills set and playstyles.

I don't have any problems like that in BL2 but motion sickness in BL1 kills me sometimes. During long Moxxi arena I was close to puking near the end.

I wish. Some legendaries are good of course, but most just neah. Same goes for the pearls, maybe 2 or 3 in BL2 are worth using. On op8 characters my loadout is made mostly from blue uniques and purples.
And keep in mind that before updade increasing drop rates (like 3 years after game launched) it was really hard for legendaries to drop, even worse with right prefix or parts you want. In BL1 legendaries are everywhere. Not always they are good but damn, find decent legendary and it will last even for 15 levels. In BL2 it's like 4 levels at absolute max. But scaling is different in both games so that's normal.
I have around 2k hours total in BL2 and maybe 400 in BL1. I reaaaally like both games and replaying BL1 now for achievments gives me so much nostalgia. Enviroments in BL2 are great but im more into that post-apo feeling of loneliness in first game.

the Torgue Ogre is rather good, as well as the Bandit Sawbar. and you also left out the Jakobs Law, another revolver that's useful in a fight

Hi,
Just to mention it I owned the non-steam version of B1 so my steam time does not reflect my game time...
I played through B1 multiple times without knowing much about rarity of weapons and what the different colours meant. I picked favorite guns and used them for level after level. Like my guns could be 6 or 7 levels lower than me and I wouldn't really notice.
In B2 a gun becomes useless after it is 3 maybe 4 levels lower than you and you learn quickly green is better than white, purple is better than green etc. All this makes it really hard to hold on to favorite weapons for any length of time at all unless you want to use the editor.
I did like the graphic (effects) of the guns in B2 though, but at the same time since you could use almost any type of gun you wanted to in B1 if you liked the shock effect it was easy to use a gun that did shock damage and not have to switch over to slag to keep your charcter alive.
Still like B2 very very much but the choice in guns seemed way less narrow in B1

Well, the skilltrees are of course totally different. The gameplay (characterplay) doesn't. Just shoot, spray and pray. In BL1, the differences were much more deeper and sensable. I finished BL1 three times, I tried four characters until lvl10-15 (sniper, siren, mechromancer, commando) in BL2 and I was getting bored, even in multiplayer. And it was mostly because of the class developement.

The inventory and skill management also sucks in BL2 imho because of this "3D" tabbed systems. But again, it's just my opinion. It's a matter of taste. In BL1 you get everything at your fingertip.

You are comparing Maya who is really versatile when it comes to all kind of guns and Zer0 who can be either sniper or malee character. There is really no "shoot, spray and pray" with him.
If you tried classes to max 15 level then im not surprised they are all similar to you. At this level you barely have any skills unlocked. But then again, seems like you really don't like BL2 so there is no reason to torture yourself and max them all out and see full potential and differences.
Everything is a matter of taste obviously. I love BL1 but when it comes to classes I always end up with Mordecai cause i just don't like the other ones (Lilith too op, Brick is just not my playstyle and Roland is simply boring).
Inventory and skill menagement is so much better and easier in BL2 but i can't believe they still didnt bother to add option to refill all ammo -.-

True! I guess I use Bekah too often to remember about other assault rifles.

I've found just the opposite. In B1 I almost never find guns that feel good to me, so I'm constantly tossing out current ones for new ones, but in B2 I hang on to guns I like for a long time, and only sell old ones if I have a decent replacement (RIP my favorite Maliwan pistol I ditched when I started over in True Vault Hunter mode, and still haven't gotten anything else even close to its awesomeness).
