Since you're already lvl 53, you'd be in the high 50s after finishing Ned's DLC. This sucks doing the Knoxx DLC, (I know, cuz I just did this) because you're fighting lower-level enemies, completing lower-level quests, and gaining lower-level loot for most of the DLC.... it's really grindy.
Instead, if you do the Knoxx DLC first, you're only a little over-leveled for it, so the enemies, quests, and loot are close to where you are for the entire thing.
As rresuggan said, the other three DLC all scale the entire time, so they'll be appropriately difficult and give appropriate awards after completing Knoxx.
The only downside to doing this is that you might get a small spoiler for the Ned DLC by doing Knoxx first.
I don't know dude, i'm still on Playthrough 1 and i'm a Level-44 Soldier grinding only enough Claptrap kills to get the BobbleTrap achievement, before completing my last 2 Guardian-based Challenges and then moving on to the "Secret Armory of General Knoxx" DLC (basically saving the Vault mission in the base game for last)
But for PT2, I definitely suggest Knoxx, Ned, and Claptrap as the order. (Unless you begin the DLCs lower than lvl 50. Then, maybe the original order would be ok.)
Moxxi's, you can do whenever, but I'd rather do it after reaching the level cap and having a lot of good items.
I did the DLCs in PT1, so i've probably seen most of the spoilers.
general knoxx sounds fun, i had this crazy overpowered erididian "thunder" something (storm?) which shot 8 balls of shock each for quite good dmg. the gun was only min req lvl 28, but I think I used it almost to lvl 40. at point blank range, it would just erase shields.
I'd love to see what a lvl 50 version looks like.
So, I'm level 69 (the max level attainable), and everything I see is also 69 or higher. Which also means that item drops generally have a decent level.
Eridian weapons are not really "overpowered" -- they have infinite ammo, but long recharge times.
Proficiencies were a bit annoying, but that's mostly because I "had" to level stuff that I never use. So, fast levelling or not, it felt useless. I had SMG maxed out long before getting to endgame, I maxed out Sniper and Rocketlauncher for Crawmerax -- everything else just felt like a waste of time, no matter how fast it levelled.
