Can't complete Road Warrior

I'm losing a ton of money doing this stupid mission. The car's shield is slow and the minions don't let that ♥♥♥♥ start regenerating.
Should I leave the car and kill'em with weapons?

Is that the mission against the Dahl headlands boss Mel?

I like to cheat on that one -- they don't play fair, so why should I?.

If you approach the arena in the vehicle, you are going over a ramp that prevents you from getting out again. In theory, anyway.

If you just position the front wheels of the car to go off the ramp, but not too far so the car won't fall into the arena, you can get out of the car, walk to the middle of the arena, trigger the fight, then run back to your car. When you look at the front wheels instead of the car body you will be able to get back into the car, and thus out of the arena again to fight Mel and his vehicles from the outside.
You might have to switch seats to the gunner seat before exiting, so you don't fall back into the arena.

I had to do this myself (after it costed me a few deaths), as he kicked my ass quite a few times by running me over

Same as Kargor, except I don't position the car. I make sure when driving up to the ramp the first time that I swerve to the right to make sure the Scooters check point turns on so if/when I die I respawn there.

Then I give it my best effort of driving like a maniac until I have to bail out of the car. I then last about a minute before dying.(I can remember one time beating him legit) Then it's respawn and take my time slowly taking pot shots as they drive by the ramp.

I killed the first 2 cars, then i died. After that i came to the ramp to get inside the arena and sniped the boss. :P

Ya know, I just googled it. There is a good way to do it. Once in the Arena look at Mad Mel and lock on. (press the space bar and hold it) Now keep firing while driving around and the "lock on" will do its job. That sounds like the way to do it.

Yeah well, the problem is that Mel isn't the only one in there. It's not impossible to do it "properly", of course, but risky.

I'd just plop the car at the top of the ramp, then run towards the gate to start the fight, then jump back to the car and get out on the other side (out of the arena), and kill stuff from there.

I go in, kill everything I can until I die, then respawn outside, grab a high accuracy SMG, AR, Revolver or Shotgun and just potsht Mel to death..
