How to find Serial Number

So my game wont activate automaticaly so im having to do it manually and its asking for the serial key, i had a look online and people say right click on the game or goto detailed view and click "View CD Key" but that options not turning up, also i bought the game ages ago and this is a new computer so i cant find the number anywhere in my emails or computer, please can someone help me asap.
