Update? Zombie Island of Dr. Ned ?

My Zombie Island of Dr. Ned DLC just updated for some reason. Over 1 gig update.

Did anyone else receive this update and does anyone know what is up with it ?

and i saw few post here on forums saying now that after the update they got. game is crashing when they open that dlc. (i didnt get the update nor does it crash for me right now) but i want to know this cuz if i uninstall this game now and install again in future i dont want it to crash.

After reading that i decided to launch the game and attempt to quick-travel to Jakobs Cove (Zombie island) and ..... yes my game crashes immediately when opening that particular dlc.

I wrote them at twitter, I doubt they answer though. It's like this with big game studios. That's another reason why indie games are better, developers are reachable because they care about their game.

Funniest thing about this whole thing is I don't even like this game, I got it in a bundle and played it like 5 minutes, left it after I realized the control scheme for the gamepad was awful and I couldn't change it.

Exact same here too. In fact, it's downloading right now for some reason, I just thought I'd check the forums to see anything related.

It's also the first time I experience something like this. Like, an automatic update for a game that isn't installed, gets queued automatically on running download lists and can't be cancelled, since it just disappears if paused.

Resmon points to the downloads steam folder, so I'll just have to check the Borderlands subfolder in steamapps after it's done. I'm glad I don't have any data usage limits but it can't be the same for everyone and while this isn't particularly harmful, it's definitely a major nuisance.

Certainly we'd all like some official explanation.

Just removed the game from my gamelibrary entirely.
Didn't help: it just keeps downloading the update of a game I no longer own...?

Perhaps it was supposed to fix a crash that happened later in he DLC, as I recall me and my have great computers (both desktop and laptop) and we like rushing through the game at the fastest pace, but never got to do Dr. Ned because of a stupid crash problem couldn't fix it, so instead we re-installed the game and now we crash whenever we play any of the DLC's, haven't turned my PC on in awhile so I will see if this actually did something on that end of the spectrum, also could be a false install reading on steams end.

Valve fix this crap or give us the option to disable auto updates and still able to play the game we payed for.

Again the worst part about this (for me) is that now i cannot even play that DLC.
The game crashes every time i try to go to jakob's cove.

Right click > Properties > Updates > Automatic Updates > Only update this game when I launch it

I haven't checked lately, but what you suggest here was not possible during the forced download of the DLC that I experienced. The entire properties dialog was actually full of string bleedthrough and obviously messed up in some way. There were no available options to turn off automatic updating for this game at the time.

Also it's a forced update so that wont work anyway.
