Remaster possibly coming with a bad change?

Shift codes and chests are coming to Borderlands 1. Shift codes were pretty much the only way to get a good weapon on borderlands 2.

Do you think shift codes might affect loot drops negatively in Borderlands 1?

Bioshock re has that too, problem is it crashed and stutter a lot ...and borderlands remastered is done by the same people(Blind Squirrel)

Technically you are right, but the amount of useful weapons you will find as drops in Borderlands 2 is extremely sparse. It seems like the built the game around the Sanctuary chest. If you go back and play Borderlands 1 you'll see the drop rate of rare and epic weapons is much higher than in 2.

Or, and sorry to say that, it's your imagination which play tricks on you and the droprate in BL2 is fine, but due the better chances with the Golden Chests it gives you the illusion that it is built around it...

lol , instead of not being constructive, why not tell me how borderlands works? Im pretty sure Ive gone a playthrough without ever seeing a legendary drop. Ive also never had to farm for gear in Borderlands 1. Just face it, Borderlands 2 and the pre-sequel was garbage in many ways compared to the original.

At end game, sure. But at end game the golden keys become useless. The real issue is with leveling and in BL2, the relative drop rate of quality rares and epics was low forcing you to hit up the chest every level or so... especially in UVHM with the awful slag mechanic.

In BL1 you would actually be able to find good epics in the world and one gun with the right make-up could carry you for several levels. Perhaps that is what OP is referring to?

i find getting decent gear quite easy. throughout the game.

as for BL1, same thing applies. it helps when you know where the Loot Chests are, and what level gear it'll have..

i stoped reading on this part "Shift codes were pretty much the only way to get a good weapon on borderlands 2" i used a few keys myself and never ever tried again because they really suck, is only useful for a new player that want a little boost for a couple levels

I stopped using shift codes/golden keys as I found the weapons made me too overpowered and I didnt enjoy the game one shotting everything

Finding good gear takes patience, or luck. I've played through BL2 without getting a single Legendary drop, same goes for BL1 and BLTPS. But some playthroughs I got a Hornet on the 1st boss almost instantly.

The difference is that a low level Legendary on BL1 carries you for all the game, Hellfire is a good exemple. In BL2 and BLTPS you just have to renew your weapons more often.

Golden Chest weapons are only good if you are in a tough spot, since they give you decent stuff on level mostly, that's it. A lot of Rare Uniques are way above a normal purple or a Golden Chest Purple.

If you have no patience to grind the better weapons, don't blame the game saying that it has garbage drop rates. If it grinds your gears that much, use the Lootsplosion mod. I use it, mostly because it's fun to see 4 times the normal drops and it gives you the best gear so you can have fun without spending 2 hours grinding a Lyuda or some ♥♥♥♥.
