Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Borderlands > WillowGame > CookedPC > Packages > GameData > Weapons > gd_weap_shared_materialparts.upk
note : you're gonna need a .upk extractor
here's a link :
http://www.gildor.org/downloads
you can either use UE Viewer or scroll down a bit and use Unreal Package Extractor
Google how, as i've forgotten.
note : using the Editor with the Steam version of Borderlands has been known to cause crashes.
if you're lucky enough to have a working Retail version, that would be better ( more stable ).
Oh, and I don't have a retail version of Borderlands, but that's ok. I wasn't planning on modding/creating guns, I just wanted to export some of the guns material files. I wanted to port some of the guns to Source Filmmaker.
http://modsreloaded.com/zbl-patch
just put the files in the associated directories.
then, create a seperate Desktop shortcut from Borderlands.exe
and THEN go to Properties for the shortcut and enter -editor after the quote marks. be sure to add a space between the quote mark and -editor.
Note : using the Editor will reset WillowEngine.ini to default settings. so you'll have to redo your resolution etc.
not too sure about how to go about exporting the Material files though.
