I just got an Ajax Ogre First Try

I know this farm usually takes hundreds of runs, and I almost ♥♥♥♥ my pants when I saw the orange light. I am curious as to what the actual chances of this happening is. My game is completely vanilla, and has no mods or even willowtree guns, so this was completely legit.

I was farming class mods from the Devastators, when Ajax dropped me an Oger. I wasn't even farming him, and I didn't even know it was rare at that time. (I think it was my 3rd try.)

did you luck out on the body or get a low ROF one?

Mine is 6.4 RoF and 27 mag, so not very good.

Nice one, and now everyone who has farmed Ajax many, many times and got nothing, all hate you.
It took me a very long time before one dropped. I have since discovered that the Big Lobster can drop them as well.

well, for one thing, it's support machine gun not an assault rifle. second, they're very rare.

It's actually an Ajax's Spear with an Ogre accessory. So you get the best of both worlds. (High quality parts machine gun + increased explosive damage).

AR, MG, same stuff for me. But is there anything significant besides the rarity? As in Damage or other stats?

I'm not really willing to farm it if it is just rare. I really like the regural Ogre Legendary so I wanna know if it's worth it compared to, say, X4 Explosive Ogre.

ajax ogre with BODY 5 is better than any possible ogre. though it's probably easier to happen across a near perfect ogre in regular crawmerax/farmory gameplay in a shorter time than it would take to find the body 5 ajax ogre
