Need tips on Solo Run.
Hey all, I'm looking to play this game Solo first. What Class would you recommend? (I tried Soldier, He seems nice, Not sure how he holds up later in the game.)

Also, Any advice or tips would be much appreciated, As it's one of my first times playing a Loot'N'Shoot game.

the Sniper is a good starter. tip : ALL sniper rifles have scopes, execpt a couple of reward guns.
take your time, this is loot 'n shoot. not run 'n gun. think of your loadout in terms of range. snipers for long range, shotguns for short range, and whatever works best for you at mid range.
the Transfusion Grenade is your best friend. fire and explosive guns seem to work best for me.
if i think of more, i'll add it.

if you wanna go fast and strong lilith is probably your best bet

if you want and all arounder take the soldier

if you want raw power and tank take brick

and if you wanna deal a lot of damage and take safe distances take mordy with his bloodwing

... soldier is acctualy very good and strong class... his team ammo regen class mod [also more rare mods for combat rifels and shotgus have ammo regen] make him feell cheap and broken. You can use fast fire snipers, launchers, pistols, shotguns even anarchy [x4] smgs without any concern for ammo... also he can greatly increase magazine size for all guns through skills and class mods allowing to shoot almost nonstop ...

All classes are viable for solo, cleared NG+ with each one. Brick makes a great tank. Lilith is great with SMGs and elemental damage, Roland is good all around and Mordecai can be a sniper or uses pistols.

Personally I preferred Brick and Lilith the most. Brick's action skill is decent in playthrough 1 but only good for heals between fights by the end of NG+. He makes a great tank through with huge health, shields, longer fight for your life and regenerates with most of his hp back. Lilith action skill can be useful for escaping and is good with SMGs which are pretty OP in the game (double anarchy/hellfire). Main issue I had was I kept blowing myself up by standing next to barrels lol.

I played Mordecai as a sniper but he's the one char I could not find a legendary or good elemental rifle. Lining up headshots was really annoying and I found him really fragile and I had better sucess as sniping with the other three. Dying far off doesn't work well with Fight For Youre Life mechanics also. I ended up shooting people in the face with a shotgun a times as then I could get a rez. His action skill is pretty useful throug. I found Roland a little bland at times. His action skill can be useful but only points forwards which can be annoying. Action skills are so much better in BL2.

The character that's best for you will honestly depend on your preferences. Depending on your playstyle you may enjoy certain characters more.

All the classes are totally fine solo but Soldier has probably the fewest possible solo builds since he has a lot of support skills and team-based class mods. He holds up fine late game. I find Metal Storm to be the most important skill in my solo builds since kill skills are so good in this game.

@the fraggin dragon Yeah that seems to be a very important skill for DPS, and isn't too hard to chain

Yeah I looked a bit into Lilith and she seems to be the best choice for me, Elusiveness for sustainability, she has dazes, and her elemental+SMG's sound soo nice.

I play Lilith, her ability are so OP.

SMG corrosive atribute. Except if the enemie are corrosive. And u can find a special mod to get ammo regeneration. EZ.

I believe Dots can stack up to three times.

DOT stacking isn't limited to my knowledge which is what makes the Hellfire so good.

Yeah, I don't recall any limitation to DOT stacking. Corrosive/Incediary damage destroys things rapidly.

Brick is a great tank but Lilith is just invincible, even when you are fighting the crawmerax you can escape from its claws incredibly fast and regenerate most of your health, drawing it into an infinite loop of hit and run. Mercenary+double anarchy is also some of the highest DPS builds that don't require much accuracy, for more DPS there is specter+penetrator/invader/skullmasher that even deals higher damage than Mordy with a sniper rifle.
Soldier's turret can draw a lot of fire power and he can never run out of ammo, though his DPS relies on his kill skills, which make him a little awkward facing a single boss, but he is still great for solo.
Mordecai can really deal some damage, but before you pick up your sniper rifle you better spend some point on bloodwing, as a dazed enemy's head is an easy target and with a correct articraft bloodwing can clear a whole room even faster than your rifle, also bloodwing is the best healer for Mordy. But gunslinger/gunfighter + masher (revolvers that fire 7 projectiles) is better than sniper in most of the bossfights (some even managed to take down the crawmerax in 5 seconds), however this kind of build is really fragile and requires you to be very accurate, so Mordy is a character that is easy to play but hard to master.

It really depends how you want to play the game.

Want to snipe ? Lilith or Mordecai are good choices. Lilith got a skill "velocity" that raise bullet speed, mord got a skill tree for sniping.

Want to run in and destroy thing with your fist ? Brick got an action skill, Mordecai got 2 differents class mod (and just one build) for that too. 1 of those class mod is nigh impossible to get. Doesn't really matter, the other one is more versatile.

Want to carpet bomb the map ? Roland or Brick can do that with as long as you get one good rocket launcher ammo regen class mod

Want to fill everybody with hole at mid range ? every single char can do that extremely well. Roland with action rifle (glorious revolution) or shotgun , Brick with shotgun (matador, crux) or any explosive weapons, Lilith with smg (anarchy, hellfire), Mord with repeater (thanatos)

Every char is "broken" in that game. You can play them pretty much how you want. I did a full run with a lilith using only eridian weapon (alien guns with weird effect, often tough as weak but used correctly, they are deadly). You can also do "constructor" run where you play one char using only one brand of item.
I'm currently doing a coop run as a melee mordecai and my friend is using a rocket launcher brick. It's mayhem and chaos every time. And fun mostly fun. I rediscover some weapons that i though useless but can be very situational.
