HOW DO I BEAT MAD MEL?

I get stuck with him :(
I can kill those smaller enemies but then, Mad Mel will destroy my vehicle and I tried to kill him with everything I have, but still little to no progress at all.

Get gud.... Literally he is one of the easier bosses so if you are struggling get better gear.

here's what i do : finish ALL side quests first, so that your level is as high as possible.
when you DO take on Mad Mel, get out of the vehicle, kill as many baddies as you can before he spawns, try to eliminate the enemy vehicles as quick as you can. then use a high damage weapon like a launcher on him. keep moving. getting out of your car benefits you as your guns are better than the crappy ones on the runner. it may take awhile to get the hang of this technique, but once you learn how to do it, then you can do it with other characters you create.

I forgot my current level since failed to beat him down for multiple times and playing other games, but I think I am at level 23. your tips are good enough man, I will try! I prefer to take the launcher vehicle actually and always use the launcher instead of the reg gunner :D
I was trying to hit him with launcher but it just so hard hit since he moved quickly as far as I remember. my technique was hitting him with my vehicle launcher, but I will try yours later . thanks man.

If your still struggling, you can take the "dishonourable" route and die on purpose during the fight (try to take out as many vehicles beforehand), you will respawn outside the arena, from there you can hang out on top of the entrance ramp and snipe/launcher/whatever Mel with minimal risk to yourself.

The way I always beat him is just go around in circles in the arena thing and target him behind me and spam m2.
