How to farm Rakk Hive, Skizilla, etc..?

Sorry for a noob question. I got this game so many years after the release. Watched a lot of the videos on Youtube. I found myself addicted to this game, well, I think because of the animations of baddies head blown off. If the baddy has a head, I will shoot at it. I know, maybe I am a bit sick...LOL... sorry, digressed.... I am on 2nd playthrough, intending to get to max level with my Lilith. I am on level 53 now. I would love to farm for xp. But my first attempt with Rakk Hive turned out to be a duff. I killed it. Quit the game. Reload the game. Gone back. It was not there. Well, nothing was there. I had killed skizilla (spelling) already but I haven't gone back to try to farm it yet. Have all these been patched?!?! If they are not patched, what is the correct way to farm xp from them? By the way, I would be most grateful for solo run advise. Many many thanks in advance.

You should play the DLCs, you will be max 58lv, unless you have Knoxx Armory and max level increases to 69. If you don't have them, you can farm Guardians at Ruins before Vault, they give way more exp than most badasses.

Thank you very much for your reply. I have all the DLCs. So, from reading between the lines, I cannot farm Rakk hive or skizilla anymore?

I don't see reason why would you want to farm them, when you already killed them, they don't give that much exp. Just finish DLC. Since you are 53lv it should be easy to start Zombie Island (Jakobs Cove) and Knoxx Armory (T-Bone Junction) and Claptrap Revolution(Terrarus Station) later. Moxxie last.

Thank you very much for your help. You are correct. I managed to get back and killed Rakk Hive and Skagzilla and the XP were miserably low, 397 & 979 respectively. I actually followed your suggestion and went back to the vault. After a couple of hours, I am now lvl 59!! Thank you for your help. :)
By the way, do you know what does playthrough 2.5 mean?

Playthrogh 2.5 is the part of the game after you beat the Destroyer in your Second Playthrough. At this point all enemies and loot will scale to your current level
