Stuck on loading screen

Greetings,

If you are experiencing an issue where the game is stuck on the loading screen, this is due to having a corrupted saved game.

We have tried to apply a fix to this issue and we have an available experimental test game client that will allow you to resume the saved game before we apply the definitive fix.

Installing the Experimental Branch

If you access the Experimental Branch you risk your save data. We highly recommend backing up your save data before accessing it. Your save data default should be here:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Team17 Digital Ltd_\The Survivalists

You can just copy this to another folder for safe keeping.

Your current save will be compatible with the new Experimental Branch but likely you will not be able to go back to default with that save. The Experimental Branch will be kept up to date, so you could in theory just play the new branch going forwards. Also you will only be able to play online with other experimental branch players as the default will be incompatible.

Installing the Experimental Branch

1. Right click the game in your Steam Library and select Properties
   
2. Select the ‘Betas’ tab
   
3. From here select Experimental from the dropdown list
   
4. Once you next try to open The Survivalists on Steam you should automatically download the experimental branch
   
5. Test loading your game

This should solve your issue, but if you are still having problems, we would recommend backing up your old saved and then delete the current one:

Can you please first make sure that cloud saves are turned off:

1. In your Steam library, right-click the game -> properties -> updates
   
2. Untick Enable Steam Cloud (tick this box once your loading issue is solved)

Then go to the following folder:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Team17 Digital Ltd_\The Survivalists

And remove any save folder/files.

Game stuck on loading screen

So I left my friends game n it got stuck on loading screen, reopened the game same thing, restarted same thing, redownloaded game and opened it up same loading screen, I’m playing on the switch btw idk where to go for help I was assuming my game is officially corrupted but idk maybe there’s a way to work this out.. or has anyone at least had the same experience as me....

Loading never ends

I can't play the game. Loading never ends. It has been reinstalled, but it is not resolved. What should I do?

After starting the game, tap on the blank key and the game keeps spinning around but can't open the game menu.

Game unplayable

I bought this gamer 2 days ago. put 6 hrs into the game. but all of a sudden im unable to get past the inital loading screen. ive reinstalled it 2 times on different hard drives. [e-mail] is the support email that steam gives you. when you try to reachout, you get a bounce back email. any ideas on how to fix my game?
