[BUG] Mysterious stranger won't sell anything

i've found the mysterious strange, he won't ask me for the items for the quest, but won't unlock the shop unless i give him the ropes.

I tried reloading, and we've been playing for around 16 hours on this game, don't really want to start over

any tips?

i havent even found a trader also played a loong time and dont wanna restart to get a shop to appear

you need to collect the reward to complete it entirely, he'll sell you items after that. thats how i got all my metal tools in the demo version lol. picking this title up as soon as i can.

Not sure if it will help, someone said that the first trader appears after open bottle in sand where you begin the game. I must if did automatic cause I didn’t remember open it.

Someone said they didn’t open bottle and built house on top of it and never get the trader,
They restarted and found and open bottle and the trade then was show up

I have been all over the island I have no way of getting off the first island and I saw that bottle. But maybe my game got bugged because I had died and it spawned me by the bed but I couldn’t do anything so I restarted the day.

Hi All,

Sorry to hear you're having these issues.

The mysterious stranger travels from island to island, so you may need to travel to different islands to find him. There is no specific thing that you need to do to make him appear.

If you can, can you check the bottle where you first started if you didn't open it and see whether this pops any message for him?

Armeos - Do you have any monkeys tamed?

Do you have a spyglass anywhere in your inventory or in any chests?

ive been looking for the trader since launch i got 2 huge chest to sell which are full by now

he showed up on my starter island after going back although it was searched multiple times now he works fine

I have about 18 monkeys tamed on that game, and i remember grabbing the bottles with the message about the stranger.

i didn't get any spyglass, and didn't even get the chance to clic to "give" the ropes. the interface was in that state from the start
