Seems setting up farms far enough apart that monkeys can't get other seeds is the only way to handle it. At least crops and trees use different plots so each farm can grow two things with just 3 monkeys (Planter, Waterer, Harvester). Just put a few water cans and axes in chest and leave them.
It's hard to do this early game when you have limited monkeys but late game when i have like 20 monkeys it's easy to spare 9 to have 3 different crop/trees going. And like 4-5 at main base for auto crafting with the rest following me.
