thre are also plans for more content in the future anyway.
The devs have already confirmed several times they are working on more content, but they have not said yet whether or not that is DLC or patches.
I believe the question was how much content is in the game, not how much content will be. Even compared to Dont Starve at day one release this game is severely lacking.
Your view is outdated and belongs into the games development industry of the 90s.
The digital age of gaming became different.
Post Launch support is key for success and building a loyal playerbase.
Companies like Klei could sing a song about how true that is.
Either a studio adapts to that mentality or loses.
Petroglyph for example is also still stuck in the past and loses people constantly.
They have a decision to make.
Either they accept the sales figures of the game now and dont invest more money into post launch support or they see the potential for higher sales figures and invest into more post launch support.
Selling games on steam means a potential customer base between 80million-1 billion people.
So its basically unlimited.
A game not being supported post launch means, it will stop generating revenue.
A game constantly being supported means people buy it even years after release.
Regarding the first half of your sentence, thats true.
You should buy a game only with how it is right now and maybe weight in what was officially announced, but not because of it.
Doing it this way prevents becoming mad for not getting what you want or expected.
