Game breaking bug encountered on boat [DO NOT SAVE WHEN YOU ENCOUNTER A BUG]

Hello,
A bug corrupted my 6h+ coop game (2 players). We just built a boat and we jumped both in it to visit the second island. My mate (not the host) drove the boat and when we arrived in the second island, I was unable to exit the boat. We tried to head back to our island, no luck either. We had to wait for starvation so I could respawn to bed.
When I resurected ->
- All my inventory was lost
- I was able to wallhack sometime, and was sometimes blocked by invisible walls
- I was not able to attack and interac with environment
- When I died again, I was respawning in the second island,
I saved (yes im stupid) my game and we both restarted ou game so see if the problem was fixed.
Nope. My character was unplayable and competely broken

I have no hope to restore my same game, but if you guys can tell me if theres a way, I would appreciated it.
Devs, such stupid game breaking bug is kinda insane- we were doing nothing wrong but navigating on a boat, 2 souls aboard. Please fix this

the exact same thing happened to my host and i, but i spontaneously combusted. i could not leave the boat and i had to watch myself burn to death while shouting "i need to cool off" while surrounded by water i could not enter. i didn't do anything wrong

Seems like this is still a problem even now....ugh

Happened to me and my partner. We were able to get back to normal.
When we realized they were stuck, without saving, they left the game and rejoined and were free.
Some additional notes: I am the host, they were a guest. I was driving the boat when they had become stuck. Not sure this would work for a host who is stuck.
