Regenerate World?

So I started the game after the update but I am not sure if I understood correctly.
I can take my inventory and special chest contents with me + 5 monkeys, check.

But what did it say about legendary weapons?

It means that with my current save game i can not find legendary weapons? Even not after regenerating the world?

You will be able to find the legendary weapons at the trader, they will be bought with the new quest tokens. A fun tip for you: load your monkeys with whatever weapon you want them to have and they will carry over to the new world.
