Hey Survivalists!

Here's a list of regularly asked questions and their answers for The Survivalists.

Q. When is the release date?
A. October 9th 2020, we'll share an exact release date as soon as we can.

Q. Can I pre-order The Survivalists?
A. Yes, currently only on Steam. You can pre-order the regular edition and get the Monkey Business player and monkey hat DLC for free. You can also order the Deluxe Edition for an added art book, OST and 3 day early access to the final beta.

Q. How does the 3 day Deluxe Edition beta work?
A. This 3 day beta will start 3 days before the release date of October 9th on Steam. You will automatically get this and it will be the release game minus potentially some day 1 patch tweaks and fixes.

Q. What is in the Monkey Business DLC?
A. 3 player hats and 6 monkey hats included in a small side quest.

Q. How does the 3 day Deluxe Edition beta work?
A. Once we have announced an exact release date, this 3 day beta will start 3 days before the release date on Steam. You will automatically get this and it will be the release game minus potentially some day 1 patch tweaks and fixes.

Q. How many players can play?
A. You can play online with up to 4 players in total.

Q. Can you interact with monkey's on another players island?
A. We've made changes since the first demo. Players can now interact with the host's monkey friends if they are given permission in the server settings. They still can't make monkeys from a hosts server their own personal monkey friends but they can bring up to 5 from their own island. This means if you play single player or host and get monkeys you can take some of those across with you to another persons islands.

Q. Is there local/splitscreen co-op?
A. No.

Q. Is there cross play between consoles and PC?
A. No.

Q. Will there be full keyboard and mouse support?
A. Yes, the first demo unfortunately didn't have full support but the full version will have rebinding and full K+M support!

Q. Will there be full controller support?
A. Yes.

Q. How can I report a bug/issue?

Q. How do I get the free demo?
A. Go to the store page and scroll down until you see a green play demo button.

Q. Will demo gameplay carry over to the full version?
A. No.

Q. What is the price of The Survivalists?
A. Base price is £21.99, €24,99, $24.99 other regions prices vary.

Q. Will there be modding tools?
A. It isn't currently planned.

Q. Are saves compatible cross platform?
A. No.

Q. How long is the demo available for?
A. It will be available at least until launch.

Q. Are all items and blue prints available in the demo?
A. No, there are many more items and blue prints to create, the demo has a limited crafting tree which locks out some of the content in the final version. Many of the crafting materials can be found by traveling to other islands and exploring some unseen epic content!

Q. How do I interact with things in another players islands?
A. The host must set up permissions in the start menu, you can go to the top right of the screen and then control whether players have: building permissions, loot permissions and monkey interaction permissions whilst on their server.

Q. How is the full version different to the demo?
A. Whilst we haven't shown off all of the game just yet and some features are not spoiled. The demo only exists on one pre-set island, this island was randomly generated via a seed though every demo player will experience this same seed. In the full version there are many islands separated by deep water you need to cross with a raft! Find exciting new biomes - trudge through smelly swamps, desert islands and much more! Find new resources to expand your crafting and even... no more spoilers! Oh and obviously lots more monkeys to find! :slight_smile:

Q. How do I unlock a chest?
A. Hit it with an item or weapon. You can also carry these home or get your monkey friends to mimic you and take the chests with them! :slight_smile:
