I have already known how to train monkeys, but I tried to teach by putting items in a chest using drag and drop.
Once I used Shift + LMB, he learned immediately.
I an not get my monkey to do anything. How do you open monkey training? The Q key? I can select to make the monkey mimic me by holding down the Q key and pressing E. It doesn't actually do anything though.
I have tried of an hour, literally to get my money to do anything, crafting, combat, etc. and it doesn't do anything. So I am asking you as the developer what is the step by step process to get the money to do stuff? At this point I got to wonder if the game isn't accepting my keyboard input or something.
How did you get the monkey to do it? Nothing I try works. What is "monkey training"? The menu that pops up when you hold the Q button?
I made same mistake.
holding Q > hovering mouse over a monkey > E or drag left
Then, character throw banana to a monkey as visual effect, and monkey will mimic your next action.
Later, you will be befriend many monkey, so you have to specify a specific monkey by hovering mouse.
Now with your mouse hover over the monkey, it will show what the are holding on the left hand circle, and the right hand circle says what 'mode' they are in and their progression to the next level.
If you then right click with the mouse on the monkey a 4 way option to instruct them comes up - teach is to get them to copy something you are doing, and they will then keep doing this.
It has limited time to teach, (this will also set their mode) so you need to give then an item I.e. an axe, a club, a multi tool before you teach them. Then make something (they will copy), combat something (they will copy), harvest something (they will copy). They stay in this mode until you dismiss them it seems.
They continue their mode even if their tool breaks so check in them and give them new tools. I had my combat monkey beating up cannibals with a chunk of fur for a bit before I noticed.
