Your friends can bring up to 5 of their own monkeys from their island when they come to visit to use on your island. We're looking into potentially letting players use each other monkeys in the future but it isn't something currently available.

Just stopped playing to search for this. This design decision seems super strange to me. Like, how am I supposed to play this game? I thought this is made for coop? Why would you force me to play singleplayer/the same thing again on another island for every party member?

Maybe I just don't understand the game haha

Okay awesome! @Josh_Team17 my friend and I were playing last night and realized he couldnt control any monkeys. Also I wanted to know if in the demo there are more blueprints beyond the first "chain" that you can unlock? You can unlock blueprints through crafting it seems until a point, and I was wondering if at that point you are supposed to discover other methods of unlocking blueprints and if so what they are?

There are lots, lots more. The beta is currently limited in the crafting and blue print chains, the FAQ pinned on the forums shows which items are currently available.

I went back to see the broadcast to get a better understanding of how the system with the monkeys work, and I don't quite get this either. Does this mean if I have 3 people join me, the only way they can have monkeys that help them is to play singleplayer and then bring monkeys to the online game? Wouldn't it be a better cohesive experience for multiplayer if the players that join the game can also recruit monkeys in the multiplayer session? This just doesn't make much sense to me. If I am misunderstanding devs, please feel free to elaborate.

Hey, so the monkey system has changed a bit since the beta, we've now made it so that you can interact with the hosts monkeys and give them commands. (You need to allow other players to do this in commands) Though, each player can still bring 5 of their own monkeys from their own world/islands to a hosts server to increase the total amount of monkeys! :)

ah good. i was actually gonna suggest a system exactly like you described reading through the forum xD.

so thats cool, it'll actually be beneficial to have friends over since they could bring their squad of elite warriors, builders, or gatherers.
