You wouldn't install it on the Quest. You would install it on your pc like usual. Then you have to use ALVR or Virtual Desktop to connect to your computer over your home network.

So download and install on my laptop then connect to quest 2 from there?

You will need the link cable to use with PCVR games

It works fine using virtual desktop. You need to have SideQuest as well. (Download VD on the quest, sideload a patch for it through SideQuest, then play a bunch of steam vr games on the quest wirelessly.)

If using a laptop make sure it is VR capable. Good enough CPU and Video Card. This free tool can test your system. https://store.steampowered.com/app/323910/SteamVR_Performance_Test/

When i was playing it, the fps is around 20ish and it was unplayable. I wonder if I missed some settings?

Hmm, I just tried it for the first time with the Quest 2 (PCLink cable) and it worked fine. May have to stop using my Rift S for PCVR.

Hey. I’m new to this vr stuff but what you recommend here still requires a pc right? The pc works with the quest using the workaround you mentioned but via wifi?

Hi updating to 4-9-2021 ... You can just use Virtual Desktop and wifi you don't need a link cable anymore (though you can still use one if you want). This is with Oculus Quest 2.

You no longer need Sidequest or Link cable.. Just Virtual Desktop from Oculus and the Virtual Desktop Streamer. You must also have steam on pc or laptop with VRP installed.
