BIG NEWS: No VR headset? No problem!
VR Paradise can now be played even if you don't own a Vive, Oculus, WMR or other similar device!

The latest release (0.084) includes support for players without VR controllers - including keyboard, mouse and gamepad. This means you can play using your smartphone.

How, you ask?

It's actually quite simple. If you own a reasonably recent Smartphone, you can play using your mouse, keyboard or gamepad and use your Smartphone as the VR headset.

You will need:
* A modern smartphone - either Android or iOS

* A copy of a program like Riftcat VRidge (https://riftcat.com/vridge) or Kino VR (http://kinovr.kinoni.com/) installed on BOTH your PC and your device - note these require a separate purchase, and are not directly related to Totem

* A Google Cardboard or similar headset adaptor (see the websites above for more information) - these can be purchased for around $10-15 on eBay or similar

Note this method also works with HTC Vive Focus, Oculus Go, Samsung Gear VR and Google Daydream View if you are using VRidge.

Note that Riftcat VRidge and Kino VR require a purchase of around $15-20 as well. These programs are NOT associated directly with Totem or VR Paradise, so please contact the makes of these programs for questions and support.

So, altogether for less than $50, you can FINALLY experience VR Paradise! Best of all, this same setup can also be used with other VR experiences, provided they also offer keyboard, mouse or gamepad support. So your purchases will go a long way beyond VR Paradise itself.

While this is NOT the same as the full VR experience, it will definitely help you to get familiar with what is possible - and we think you'll be running out to buy a VR device very soon!

Thanks for your continued support.

Hi folks. Great news! VR Paradise now supports keyboard, mouse and gamepad controls. So you can finally play this game even if you don't own a VR headset. See the top post for instructions on how to make this work.

NOTE: This is an exclusively VR experience and flat screen support is not planned or supported.

Sorry no. The FAQ explains more.

However, the upcoming version (hopefully next week) will include keyboard, mouse and game pad controls.

In theory, this would make it possible to use something like Kino VR or Riftcat and your phone to experience the game in VR.

However, there won't be a mode for flat screen anytime soon.

Here is a guide to setting up a controller/mouse to control headtracking. This still requires a decent phone and VRidge but at least lets you play from your desktop: https://www.reddit.com/r/DIYRift/comments/6mm5yf/guide_use_a_mousecontroller_to_control_steamvr/ I didn't write it so all credit goes to the original author

What is the key binding for reset on the keyboard? At the beginning of the game it asks for joystick key and it is bound to Space key. What is Reset key??

I don't get it. SteamVR is perfectly fine giving you a flat screen view based on one of the video outputs. It arguably looks prettier too compared to even the Index display. The only thing that was missing was the ability to move your camera. Now that you've added that... what's the real issue here? Why not just output the video to screen and let someone use the game flat?

@Aidosyne Hope to have someday the option, really can't afford a VR headset (third world economy + all the other actual problems) Tried with the crappy phone with other games and the only thing I gained was a headache :steamfacepalm:
