Synergy's worth it?

What does the synergy bonus between teacher and student even give, and is it worth bothering with? Or is it a mechanic that should basically be ignored...like it feels like a lot of mechanics in this game.

Also, its super frustrating I can't fire and re-hire teachers in any way. If I roll bad on the hire its just "sucks to be me".

I think it's worth if you really, really want to optimise your school, but I usually have god results without bothering with synergy.

Being able to fire a teacher (in exchange for money for example) could be an interesting idea. Or maybe being givent the choice to re-hire each time you increase the room level.

While you can't get rid of the teachers, you can potentially upgrade them (either removing negatives or adding new positives) via various promotion cards and placeable artifacts (the latter best used in staff rooms rather than individual classrooms).

Individual alignments can affect certain future chances, but synergy with the teacher is rarely, if ever, worth worrying about.
