As an admin in-game
NOTE: Before people saying, admins want to have the hacker tools.. well. Yes. I would love it. Many reasons for it besides ruining other people their game time. These tools can be used for more purposes. You tube for example, being a streamer or who knows you want to help out someone that's new to the game and keeps getting shot over and over again. As an admin, you are responsible for your actions, but also for the members that are playing on your server.
I believe that the way to make Deadside a great game is twofold: #1 make it as adjustable as possible, don't try to force everyone to play your vision of the game, let server owners set up the type of experience they want for themselves and their players. The cream will rise to the top.
#2 Get your community involved in creating items for the game ASAP. Give them the tools to create maps, weapons, clothes/armor, skins, when vehicles come in let them make vehicles, make this a modable game and you'll be very happy with the result.
Based on 8+ years game servers own. More admin tools = better, than anti-cheat.
our observations on what would be good to have on the administration panel:
-Have two roles (Administrators, Moderators)
-"Kick player" button.
-Item spawn console, This could be good for private events and creative mode to test bugs of bases or items and feedback to the devs.
-God mode, Teletransport, be Invisible, This is good for events as well as moderating the server (go to a specific player location, for example).
-Delete bases.
-Build anywhere on the map without the need to claim a piece of land (to be able to build edifications for events, etc)
-Have control in G-Portal of the people who are online in the server (SteamID as public IP.), Also be able to ban or kick out from this panel.
That's all for now!
Thank you very much for your work and for listening to the Deadside community!
Would be nice if admin can create a honey-pot base that doesn't belong to a player and ban anyone who accesses that base's storage.
:yellowbeat: Invincibility/Godmode
:yellowbeat: Invisibility
:yellowbeat: The ability to ban offline players by steamid or even IP
:yellowbeat: ESP for admins (player and NPC outline)
:yellowbeat: Spectator mode : PoV/Free mode
:yellowbeat: Teleport to player + map coordinates
:yellowbeat: Commands for location of player or ourselves (admins)
:yellowbeat: Kick/Mute
:yellowbeat: Remote console (Rcon)
:yellowbeat: Distance check for kills
:yellowbeat: Killer/victim location and name + location/coordinates (logs)
:yellowbeat: Chat logs
:yellowbeat: Login logs with IP-address/Players online list
:yellowbeat: Death logs for PvP and PVE : deaths from NPC's, suicides, players etc - every possible death with location and with which weapon
:yellowbeat: Option for admins to heal themselves or a player (in case of a bug etc)
:yellowbeat: Spawn commands
:yellowbeat: Mark/pin point a player on the map : In case we need to take a closer look at (to "stalk") and being able to see a specific player's movements on the map (also with option: se all)
*Pinpointed player - see a dotted line with player's movement and ability to remove "pinpoint marker".
:yellowbeat: Admin being able to force a screenshot from players computer and send to the server for admins to be able to see any cheat overlays.
:yellowbeat: White List/Exclusive list so that admins can always get on their own server ;P
:yellowbeat: The ability for admins to see who's talking (using in game voice) Maybe a highlight colour on the name or above the head or something. (While it is possible to sometimes figure out who's talking, we need a quick and easy way to find out who's talking in case of racist/hate speech etc)
:yellowbeat: Bullet trajectories.
:purpleflare: If we can only have one thing to begin with, please at least give us private server admins the possibility to walk around the map as invisible, so that we can at least stalk fishy players and/or better keep an eye on players
(Possibly with invisibility mode = disabled PvP for admins
Visual display of player names as they join the server.
A daily player log where all players IDs are recorded within the past 24hrs.
A refresh button in the in game admin controls.
Another thing make it so that when in admin mode a admin can open anyones doors. This will help us be able to find out if people are duping loot.|
If I think of anything else I will let you know because our server is constantly 50/50 everyday now and our server NEEDS these admin tools ASAP
ALSO ONE MORE THING admins make sure admins are in GODMODE when in admin mode. That way when their name is red the players know they are doing something with staff ♥♥♥♥.
When you are spectating someone you should have an option to TP to them while spectating.
Make admins able to freeze other players and make themself invisible this could make it so a admin could tp them while invisible and in godmode to follow them around and see if they are cheating.
Also for Owner to change permissions to seperate players or ability create groups like MODS / Admins / etc . and change permissions to each group
(We can put our in game guild logos on the backs, or on our helmets etc)
but i would like to add the ability to Toggle offline/online raiding.
