Pretty sure the game doesn't need 12 threads and 16gb of Ram to run and be streamed at 720p60 at the same time, genius. Yet, I can't get the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing to run while stream. If lack of performance to run this Playstation 3 era game was really the issue, I'd never have been able to stream No Man's Sky much less even run the game.
What makes me say that? Well, remember what happened when you tried to stream Persona 5 on the PS4? The feed would cut for the game while certain parts were played/watched, but would come back after they were done.
Also, although by accident, the first weeks from the release of Destiny 2 were marked by the game detecting most hooks like MSI Afterburner or OBS as "Cheat Devices"
Atlus should go back on this, especially considering this does very little to deter a streamer that uses a capture card.
You're definitely right. Atlus had asked their team to deliberately go out of their way to prevent game streaming in an attempt to avoid spoilers for a game that came out in February, 2011.
It's much less likely that a console port just wasn't well optimized for PC and has a conflict and crashes by error.
Anyone know where I can buy foil hats?
As for it being an old game and not needing this kind of heavy handed measure to avoid spoiling the story to those who aren't playing... have you forgotten that Persona 5 disables the streaming function of the PS4 during key parts on purpose? That still hasn't been removed after all these years. Why are they keeping that in if the game is old enough for everyone and their mother to know the plot?
TL;DR, Japanese execs at Atlus are actually dumb enough to believe people who watch their games streamed won't feel the need to buy the game after.
After news of a Japanese Toyota exec saying something similar about people driving their cars in video games not wanting to buy the actual car, I wouldn't be surprised if Atlus had that boomer mindset instilled.
This game definitely has a problem working with recording / streaming software.
If Atlus actually asked the porting team to run a function to check for streaming hooks and close the game upon detection and only has it run when a cutscene is about to start... Do they know all the cutscenes are up on youtube? The cutscenes have been available to non-players since way back when the game was only on consoles thanks to the dudes who used capture devices on their PS3/X360s.
Knowing that, why bother with this hassle?
As I said before, I could'nt find a prove that validates what this web page says, but its the only answer I could find myself.
