Choose an archeology is stuck in a loop.
I have a round doing really well, probably one of the most succesful games I've ever played. I made an archaeological dig site, and whne it was done it asked me to pick what i wanted, s usual.

Instead of sending the artifact to museum, it just sat there doing nothing, i can't progress the game because of this, it won't allow more turns until it lets me choose an archeology which it will not do.

Any way to force it off or is my game ruined? :sr4paul:

Try to load last autosave and stop the archeologist manually if the problem occurs again when same turn is repeated. Standard procedure for bugs which prevents you to continue your game. I haven't encountered that bug myself.

ah, i don;t use autosave, it causes massive lag and freezes for me. oh well, new game it is!

I don't know if there is a way to overcome this problem, but probably not. Autosaves are good way for these kind of problems. Sure you have your own saves from the game , if you don't have autosaves?

I haven't noticed any lag or freezes when using autosaves, even when used every turn on marathon games. Saves are normally in "My Documents" in Win OS, so you need to have enough room in your C-drive and C-drive defragmented.

I think i'm just not gonna play this game lol, it never used to do this. Just earlier today a new match got stuck on "choose production". Lost ike 12hrs of play from those 2 games.

You really should use autosave. I have got stucked to those bugs (which prevents you to continue your game) only couple of times, and I have played over 4000h. So, those bugs are not common. Are you playing vanilla version (no expansions)? Many bugs are fixed in expansions.

i have both expansions, and a few DLC, this never used to happen to me until the last patch.

I really can't use auto-save, for some reason it slows my game down to nothing and sometimes crashes me.

Edit: I've unsubscribed some mods, comepletely remove Civ V and am going to re-install tonight, hopefull this fixes it.

Maybe some of the mods caused your problems. Mods can do that, it's sometimes very hard to get some mod combinations to work. I used many hours yesterday searching for a broken mod. I had about 50 mod civilizations and I knew there is a broken one, because the game crashed. I had to make multiple tests with different mod/civilizations combos to eventually find the broken one... well, actually there were two which were broken.

yeah, I only had like 6 mods, but I think one of them was doing it, game seems to run fine now. Honestly I must have installed those mods long ago, because I don't remember installing them lol

It could also be that you had no more room to put an artifact into, then it will also not allow you to create one.

ok so for the arch bug what you can do is use the arch unit to start the process to make you choose what to do for the dig site, when it doesnt clear itself put a second arch on top of that same digsite and choose again this time it will fix itself. found this out just a lil while ago
