13" MacBook Pro Retina (2015) gets very hot
Hi guys,

I use the new 2015 MacBook Pro with 13" retina Display as my main computer. All the games I love are running fine.

Now I installed Civ 5 and can run it even on retina resolution and high settings smoothly.
Sadly, after a short time (10 mins) the MacBook runs very hot and CoconutBattery gives me a battery warning.
Even turning everything to low and switch to low resolution will end up like above.

Do you have a tip what to do? Is it my MacBook? Is it a bug in the game?

Thanks for helping!

I use a separate lap top cooling pad, plugs into the USB port. The lap top sits on top of the pad.

Civ V is very CPU intensive game, unlike many other games. CPU is the problem most likely, not graphics card, at least this is the case with my laptop. You can use lower clocks for CPU, to restrict it, then AI turns take more time, but your computer won't heat up that fast. I don't know what kind of power options there are in a Mac, but there is probably some settings to limit your CPU.
You can use a pad to cool down your macbook.
