resolution problem

i was in full screen and i pressed a resolution that my screen cant display. i cant change it in the game so how do i.

You can change resolution manually from the settings files, for example in Windows 7 computer:

- Open folder "C:\Users\[your username]\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\"
- There is a file "GraphicsSettingsDX11.ini" in that folder, open it with the notepad or other text editor.
- There is two parameters in the file which you should change corresponding resolution you want to use: WindowResX and WindowResY.
- Save the file and start the game, it should be working and all other settings are not lost.

hi, i have a similar problem. but following those instructions it says its already the resolution of my screen. any advice?

i fixed it by smashing keys on my keyboard and somehow got it glitched so i could change the res

Easiest way is to delete the .ini file that Damsteri mentioned. That will reset the settings to default.
It's possible there is also a GraphicsSettingsDX9.ini. In that case, you should delete that one as well.
After that launch the game again. It will start with the default settings.
